The Jack Collins Medal was created in 2010 and is awarded to the premiership player, or players, that kick the most goals in the winning AFL Grand Final team.
Jack Collins, a former Coleman Medalist, kicked seven (7) goals in the 1954 grand final, which was the most goals in a grand final from 1954 until 1980.
The AFL Premiership Players Club created the goal kicking award to honour its founder and the former champion full-forward.
The inaugural medal was won in 2010 by Collingwood’s Alan Didak, Chris Dawes, Brent Macaffer, Steele Sidebottom and Sharrod Wellingham when each kicked two goals for the premiership team.
